The "Deseret News" for 5 February 1886, p. 3, has this obituary for Margaret Evans Francis:
Death of an aged sister. As will be seen by a notice published elsewhere, Sister Margaret Francis Jones, of the 16th Ward, died this morning at the advanced age of 86 years. Sister Jones joined the Church in 1847 in South Wales and immigrated to Salt Lake City in 1849, and has lived in the 16th Ward ever since. She survived her first husband and all her children and proved a kind and affectionate mother to her grandchildren. She died as she was known through life, a faithful Latter-day Saint. |
